Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do I need a medical marijuana card to buy any products on BuyLegalMeds.com?
No. Anyone can make a purchase that's 18+ years old.
2. Should I be concerned about shipping if it's taking long?
NO. Although you paid for express shipping, that is standard on the site. No matter what you pay for, there is a 2-3 business day processing time then your item is shipped and weekends don't count. USPS does not guarantee shipping delivery date. Read more about it here.
3. Can I pass a drug test using with your products?
YES. Fortunately, the urine drug screen for THC-COOH is known to have very little cross-reactivity to other cannabinoids that are not psychoactive, such as CBD (cannabidiol), CBG (cannabigerol), CBN (cannabinol), and others. This is good news for “normal” consumers of CBD/hemp oil.
That said, individuals using unusually large doses of a cannabinoid-rich hemp oil product (above 1000-2000 mg of hemp oil daily) could theoretically test positive during the initial urinary screen. Although very rare, the urine screen in these cases would likely represent a “false positive” due to other non-THC metabolites or compounds, which may cross-react with the immunoassay. When this is the case, the confirmatory GC/MS test would be negative, since CBD and other cannabinoids will not be detected by the more accurate (and specific) GC/MS screen.
4. Are your products legal in the United States?
YES. Because this is a hemp-based product, it is legal in the United States and some countries and the use and/or possession of this oil is either deemed legal or is unregulated by drug enforcement agencies.. In the United States, the use of industrial hemp categorizes the oil as "food-based" and as such is perfectly legal.
5. Has BuyLegalMeds.com products been approved by the FDA?
As of now, no CBD oil products have been approved by the FDA. They are, however, stringently regulated and must comply with the provisions of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act as regulated by the FDA.
6. How much CBD hemp oil can I consume per day? Can I die if I take too much?
The fun answer is, you can die from anything. Even water. Each product is given specific recommendations. Please see the packaging for each item.
7. What's the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Scientifically and genetically, industrial Hemp and Marijuana can be the same plant, with a genus and species name of Cannabis Sativa. Industrial Hemp is always a strain of Cannabis sativa, while marijuana can be Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, or Cannabis ruderalis. The major difference is how industrial hemp has been bred compared to a marijuana form of Cannabis sativa. Industrial hemp is very fibrous, with long strong stalks, and barely has any flowering buds, while a marijuana strain of Cannabis sativa will be smaller, bushier, and full of flowering buds. Marijuana, 99% of the time, has a high amount of THC and only a very low amount of CBD. Hemp, on the other hand, naturally has a very high amount of CBD, and naturally has a low, trace amount of THC. Fortunately, the cannabinoid profile of hemp is ideal for people looking for benefits from cannabis without the 'high.'
Hemp is used for making medicinal remedies, food, fiber, rope, paper, bricks, oil, natural plastic, and so much more. Whereas marijuana is usually used just recreationally, spiritually, and medicinally.
*The hemp derived, CBD oil blends are sometimes referred to by people as cannabis oil, as the term cannabis can technically describe hemp or marijuana, and in our case cannabis oil is obviously being used to describe our hemp oils.
8. Can I mix your products with alcohol?
We do not recommend that you drink any alcoholic beverages or energy products while consuming CBD hemp oil.
9. Are there side effects to CBD oil?
Cannabidiol (CBD), and other phytochemical constituents of cannabis are considered to be generally safe. In hemp's thousands of years of use there has not been one recorded fatality or major illness contributed to it's use that we know of.
Very rarely people will complain of a short lasting and mild stomach pain. This usually subsides after 2-3 days of use. Two out of thousands of our customers have made note of this.
In high servings some people can experience a slight sedative effect.
In very high servings (upwards of 200mg of CBD per serving) some people experience what's being labeled as Dysphoria, an unpleasant emotional state. This is incredibly rare though, and has only been mentioned when using abnormally high amounts of CBD.
10. Do your products make you high?
No. They're not supposed to anyway. That's not the purpose of our products. Although, some products in our store do give a sense of "on the clouds" feeling which causes a weightless feeling, some products are heavier in effects than others.
11. Who should not take CBD hemp oil?
Women who are pregnant or nursing.
Children under the age of 18 years old unless given parent permission.
Check with your doctor before taking any of our products if…
You are currently taking any prescription medications.
You have been advised by your physician to avoid downers.
You have a medical condition that makes you concerned about taking it.
You are concerned about taking it for any reason.
12. Is CBD from hemp as good as CBD from marijuana?
The short answer is yes. CBD is CBD, whether from marijuana or hemp. Most marijuana has a very low cannabidiol profile, so most of the time hemp would be much more preferable regarding CBD potency because it naturally has such a high amount of it.
There are however certain strains of marijuana that are being grown with a very high CBD content, but this is presently very rare. And the few growers that do have high CBD marijuana strains are struggling to provide for all the people in need. Our CBD percentage from hemp is still comparable to these high CBD marijuana strains, and will soon actually surpass them. So, industrial hemp is not just an ideal alternative to marijuana, but is most of the time the preferable choice.
*The cannabis strain Charolotte's Web is now considered a variety of hemp, which flies in the face of a common misconception that marijuana is a better source of CBD than hemp, being that Charlotte's Web gave CBD the very popularity it is now experiencing. THC and CBD tend to balance each other out, ratio-wise, in cannabis plants, so if enough breeding attention is given to increasing CBD levels, the THC levels will naturally fall and eventually you will have a harvest that will be under .3% THC on a dry-weight basis, making it fall within the definition of Industrial Hemp. Hemp is truly a wonderful source of cannabidiol (CBD), as is obvious from our quality and the feedback we've received from thousands of different people.
13. What is CBD?
What is CBD? Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound in cannabis that has medical effects, but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counter the psychoactive effects of THC. After decades in which only high-THC Cannabis was available, CBD-rich strains are now being grown by and for medical users. The reduced psychoactivity of CBD-rich cannabis makes it an appealing treatment option for patients seeking anti-inflammatory, anti-pain, anti-anxiety, and anti-psychotic effects without disconcerting lethargy or dysphoria.
Most people have heard of a chemical called THC, which is the ingredient in marijuana that gets users high. But recently, attention has shifted to another compound in marijuana called CBD — and for good reason.
Because while doctors can’t seem to look past certain side effects of THC, CBD doesn’t seem to present that problem. On the other hand, evidence of CBD’s medical benefits continues to grow.
14. What’s the ideal serving size for me, and how often should I take it?
The ideal serving size is not known. In one study we looked at, 2mg of cannabidiol (CBD) had similar effects as 200mg CBD. An important factor to acknowledge when considering this question is that most of the studies and research being performed on CBD use an isolated form of synthetic cannabidiol. Our whole plant, hemp derived CBD oil is different- the CBD most likely works in conjunction with the other cannabinoids (CBN, CBC, CBG, etc.), terpenes, vitamins, minerals, omega lipids and other natural phytochemicals present in industrial hemp.
Also worth mentioning is that the weight of the person may play a role in how the CBD effects the body. A 40 pound child most likely won’t need the same amount as a 250 pound man to gain a similar result.
We generally suggest experimentation when figuring out a good serving for you or your loved one. Pytochemical constituents from hemp (like CBD) are considered by most to be relatively safe, and there hasn’t been any major side effects that we’ve ever seen or heard of. What seems to work may var greatly from person to person.
One last note on this topic is that your body will build up a storage of cannabidiol in the body, which is unlike most chemicals. Unlike alcohol, which is usually absent from the blood stream and body within 24-48 hours after ingestion, cannabidiol is fat soluble and may stay bound to the cells of the body for weeks. This is important to know because after a few weeks of using CBD oil a lesser amount may be required to gain effects similar to the original servings.
15. Why do people use CBD oil? CBD oil benefits and uses?
In accordance with US regulations we can not make health claims regarding our CBD oil, hemp oil, or any dietary supplement. Please refer to an informational source that isn’t involved with the sales of any dietary supplements, and is a trusted educational source for cannabidiol research. People from all walks of life with greatly varying circumstances are using our CBD oil. We can send links to research and our detailed testimonial list by private email request only.
